Installation step by step

You need Windows 10 or Windows 11 (64-bit).

Mobile2PC is not an installer: the program runs directly from the folder you extract from the zip file. The steps below take a few minutes.

1. Right-click the zip file you downloaded and use “Extract All” to extract it to a folder of your choice. Do not run the program from inside the zip file; extract the folder first.
2. In the extracted folder, the Mobile2PC.exe file and the scrcpy folder sit side by side. Never separate them: scrcpy is the phone connection engine and the program cannot connect to the phone without it. If you want to move the folder, move the whole folder.
3. Double-click Mobile2PC.exe. There is no installation; the program opens straight away.
4. If Windows shows a blue warning window, follow the two steps in the section below: first “More info”, then “Run anyway”.
5. When the program opens, follow the illustrated setup wizard on screen; it shows you the steps to prepare the phone one by one. You can return to the wizard later from the TOOLS tab.

The Pro/Pro Max key needs the internet for activation; the licence then renews itself online about every 30 days. Daily use works offline. If a renewal cannot be made, you get another 30 days of grace — about 60 days in total from the last successful check.

If Windows shows a warning

The first time you run the file, Windows may open a blue window and say "Windows protected your PC" and "unknown publisher". Let us explain plainly why you see that, because there is nothing to hide.

Why does it appear? The program is signed with a certificate we created ourselves on behalf of MA FA Global V.O.F. The file also carries a DigiCert timestamp; that timestamp only proves on which date the signature was made — DigiCert does not verify who the publisher is. Because the certificate does not come from a certificate authority, Windows cannot verify the publisher and may show an "Unknown publisher" (SmartScreen) warning. This does not mean there is anything wrong with the program. We scan the file before publishing it; even so, we recommend scanning it yourself after downloading. A clean scan result is not an absolute guarantee of safety.

1. In the blue window, click More info.
2. Then press the Run anyway button that appears at the bottom. The program opens.
3. You usually only do this the first time. Depending on your Windows settings and how well known the file is, the warning can appear again with a new version or on another computer.

You do not have to take our word for it, you can check: right-click the file you downloaded > Properties > Digital Signatures — on that tab the signer must read MA FA Global V.O.F. The program also checks its own integrity every time it starts: if even a single byte inside it has been changed, or if someone else has re-signed it, it will not open.

Prepare the phone (once)

The program connects to the phone through Android’s own “USB debugging” permission. You turn this setting on only once per phone; you do not need to install any app on the phone.

1. On the phone, open Settings, About phone, Software information and tap the “Build number” line seven times; developer mode turns on. On some phones this line is directly under “About phone” (Pixel, Motorola), and on Xiaomi it is under “All specs”.
2. Go to Settings, Developer options and turn on the “USB debugging” switch. On Samsung: Settings > Security and privacy > Auto Blocker > OFF; otherwise USB debugging stays grey or switches itself off.
3. Connect the phone to the computer with a USB data cable. Many cheap charging cables only charge; then the phone is never detected. If possible, use the phone’s own cable.
4. In the “Allow USB debugging?” window that appears on the phone, tick “Always allow from this computer” and tap Allow. While the program is running, it detects the phone by itself. While the program is open, the phone's name appears at the top.

Cable or Wi-Fi?

The first connection is always made with a USB cable, and the Normal edition works over the cable. Wireless connection is in the Pro edition: after the first connection you can unplug the cable and continue over the same Wi-Fi network. On Android 11 and later, “Wireless debugging” must be turned on on the phone for this; the program opens that screen for you and, if needed, asks for the 6-digit pairing code shown on the phone. The wireless connection only goes to your phone on your own Wi-Fi network and never out to the internet.

Stuck?

What is in the Normal edition?

Seeing the phone screen on the computer and using it with mouse/keyboard, moving files, reading notifications and incoming SMS, taking screenshots, the illustrated setup wizard, the 26-language selector and a free 10-minute daily trial of Separate Screen. Unlimited Separate Screen, video recording, game controller and wireless connection are in the Pro edition; in the program these features appear grey with a lock.

Apart from a daily update check (can be switched off), the free edition never connects to the internet; everything stays on your computer. The Pro/Pro Max key needs the internet for activation; the licence then renews itself online about every 30 days. Daily use works offline. If a renewal cannot be made, you get another 30 days of grace — about 60 days in total from the last successful check.
